mediator and a visiting scholar, today he's mourning the loss of a friend and asking about the poor security allowing the ambassador chris stevens and three others to be killed in the eastern city. >> this is the first time an ambassador has been lost in more than 30 years. >> they had a friendship spanning more than a decade. he and three other americans died during a protest outside the u.s. consulate over a film rid kuling muslims. what is being investigated is where stevens was killed, and by whom. >> you knew that compound. was it secure? >> at the time i knew that compound in 2011 the security seemed to be fine. clearly circumstances changed. >> the demonstration was one of several protests that day.

feeding their cattle. abc 7 news joins us live from sacramento with the story. nannette? >> there is california dairy farmers say they're barely hanging on and there is a product bringing in billions a year. >> they are making noise about the price set this summer for film getting just over asking for a 50 cent increase. >> what was the response? we got six cents. $500 a month for a thousand cow dairy. with this drought spiking up the price of corn, cattle feed is very expensive. 300 cattle farms shut down

more on the verge of closing because the costs to manufacture milk exceeds what they can sell it for. >> we want to survive, i got four kids. >> there are nearly all dairies are family owned. >> we have no money leftover. we can't do nothing. banks won't work with us. >> there is part of a group asking california be included in a group of states where the federal government sets the price of milk. >> $18 hunter weight gets to us break even. >> since federal approval could take months, farmers marched to the saekts office because she has authority to raise milk prices now. but they were refused at the door. the agency did say it's aware of the challenges but looks at factors when setting prices, taking into account the impacts on consumers producers and processors.

into 50s. blame it on fog. there is what this looks like now. and still kaeping you on the cool side but take a look at the area here. there is some drier air clearing out some of the fog. it's shallow. temperatures now 92 in antioch. 60 degrees in san francisco. half moon bay. 57 degrees. there are highlights, fog tonight and there is a wide range of conditions tomorrow. there is going to be a bit cooler this weekend so if you're making plans temperatures will be coming down. there is going to be a cool start again, most areas into the 50s and fog could possibly be dense again for morning drive near the coast so just watch out for that. here is a look at water vapor there is warmer weather for bay and inland but not near the coast.
